Every designer has a story that shapes their creative path. For Ezar Henry Co, that journey began long before he pursued production design as a profession. It started with a childhood fascination for the performing arts, which eventually led him to discover his passion behind the scenes.

Ezar first stepped onto the stage at the age of three when he portrayed one of the dwarfs in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. At nine years old, he became part of the chorus in the theatrical production Bathalang Laor, and by the age of twelve, he explored another form of performance through hand mime. Although he enjoyed performing, he gradually realized that his confidence on stage was fading as he grew older. Rather than allowing this to discourage him, he found a new sense of purpose backstage, where his creativity could flourish in a different way.

His journey as a stage designer began during his high school years at United Evangelical Church School (內湖中華基督教會學校). Given the opportunity to design a stage for a school event, Ezar discovered a passion that would ultimately define his career. That experience inspired him to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Production Design at De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde, where he further developed his artistic vision and technical skills.

During college, Ezar immersed himself in both academic and organizational activities to expand his knowledge of production design. He initially joined the set department of a student organization before transferring to the costume department, eager to explore another creative discipline. This experience allowed him to understand the relationship between scenic and costume design, ultimately strengthening his appreciation for both fields and shaping his holistic approach to visual storytelling.

Driven by his commitment to continuous learning, Ezar completed internships with several renowned theater productions and television programs. His experiences included ABS-CBN's Magandang Buhay, Minute to Win It, It's Showtime, I Can Do That, and the ASAP Birit Queens Concert. In theater, he trained with Atlantis Theatrical Productions for Kinky Boots and Matilda, Repertory Philippines for Beauty and the Beast and A Comedy of Tenors, and Full House Theater Company for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Beyond his internships, Ezar also contributed professionally to several notable productions, including ABS-CBN's Maalaala Mo Kaya episode Portrait, Repertory Philippines' Silent Sky, and Rapunzel! Rapunzel! A Very Hairy Fairytale. Each production strengthened his technical expertise while deepening his understanding of collaboration, storytelling, and the creative process behind live entertainment and television.

As his journey continues, he keeps these inspirations and progressively working toward his goals while taking long roads just to find the never-ending success.
